May Morris embroidery workshop
Using a limited palette of simple colours and playing with light and shade in the placing of stitches, you will get the rare opportunity to embroider one of May Morris's botanical designs from the Ashmolean collection, and study original examples of 19th-century needlework. This practical workshop, led by Lynn Hulse, will also explore the changing attitude towards colour in the production of hand-embroidered textiles for the home during the 19th-century. The event is part of the Colour Revolution Exhibition.
Please bring a pair of embroidery scissors and an 8-inch (20 cm) ring frame.
Price: £105
